Man kills elderly wife in murder-suicide at Pennsylvania hospice, DA says
Tue Mar 19, 2013
My mother was in a hospice center for just six days, comatose for the most part. She had no IV's, no feeding tubes, nothing. The hospice staff took great care of her and made sure she wasn't in pain. I guess you could say she and our family were the lucky ones because she died just a little over a w …
Innocent man cleared after 14 years behind bars for attempted rape of girl
Wed Mar 13, 2013
I have to wonder what evidence was used to convict him. The girl said she didn't know her attacker (she knew Mr. Williams). And he was arrested on the word of others. No DNA testing was done. It's too bad it took so long to clear him. He seems to have a good attitude. I would be angry. Hopefully, he …
Michigan hurtles toward anti-union law
Thu Dec 6, 2012
I live in Florida, which is a right to work (or as we call it, a right to not work state). And our wages are much lower. And don't tell me our standard of living is lower also. We don't pay less for gas and other necessities. Our employers don't need to give a reason to fire us. We have no recourse. …
Mortgage catch pushes widows into foreclosure
Sun Dec 2, 2012
You didn't read the article very well. In some cases the widow sent a payment in and it was returned because her name wasn't on the mortgage. So, some women can afford to pay, if the lender will work with them. The only mistake they made was not making sure their names were also on the mortgage.
Florida woman Edwarda O'Bara dies after 42 years in coma
Fri Nov 23, 2012
I commend the family for caring for their daughter/sister all those years. I am not sure I could have done it. Obviously, Edwarda's body sustained her all those years. Her organs didn't fail. I am not a medical expert, but it seems like she wasn't in any pain. This was the family's decision to care …
'Historic' crop of Iraq, Afghanistan veterans storming Washington, D.C.
Wed Nov 7, 2012
Junior military people with families may in fact be part of the 47%. They may be qualified for the earned income credit, would make them not pay taxes. I am a military veteran and I always voted Democrat.

Prosecutors seek death for soldier accused of Afghan massacre
Tue Nov 6, 2012
I am against the death penalty, period. What this soldier did was a heinous crime and should be punished. But executing him is not the answer. Life in prison is enough punishment.
Morning Maddow: November 4
Sun Nov 4, 2012
My county in Florida is doing the same thing. Unfortunately, I think it's a Florida law. My local paper featured a man who had had a stroke in the past year. He signed his ballot with his right hand (he was left-handed before the stroke). The signature obviously did not match the sig on record. His …
Lawsuit: Cop stuns 10-year-old with Taser for refusing to clean his patrol car
Fri Nov 2, 2012
That police officer is an idiot. Not only should he not have asked the kids to clean his patrol car (that's his job), pointing his taser at the boy -- even in jest -- is grounds for him being fired.
